Hofstra: Hired Lauren Netherby to be head women’s volleyball coach. Netherby has been the interim head coach since July 31, 2006, following the retirement of longtime Head Coach Fran Kalafer. (posted 12/21/2006)

Texas-Pan American: Dave Thorn resigned his post as head women’s coach of the University of Texas-Pan American, where he had spent 10 years at the helm of the program, recording 112 victories. (posted 12/21/2006)

Southern Oregon: Head volleyball coach Paul Elliott, Southern Oregon University’s winningest active coach, announced on Dec. 6, 2006, that he is stepping down after guiding the Raider volleyball program for the past 16 seasons. Elliott, who compiled a program-record 381 wins and guided SOU to four NAIA Tournament berths, four regional championships and three Cascade Conference crowns, cited personal reasons for his impending departure. Corban College: Tracy Smith announced her resignation as head women's volleyball coach on Dec. 6, 2006, following seventeen seasons at the helm of the Warriors. Smith, along with her family, will be entering the ministry full-time with Athletes in Action (AIA), a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, at the headquarters located in Xenia, Ohio.

Oregon Tech: Oregon Tech volleyball coach Amanda Rico announced her retirement from coaching on Dec. 5, 2006, after five years as the head of the Owls program. Rico becomes the third Cascade Conference volleyball coach to resign in the past ten days. Southern Oregon University coach Paul Elliott tendered his resignation November 25 followed by Corbans Tracy Smith on December 4. (posted 12/6/2006)

Rocky Mountain College: The contract for head women's volleyball coach Wade Wells will not be renewed according to athletic director Terry Corey. Wells had been the coach of the Lady Bears for 16 seasons. (posted 12/6/2006)

New Mexico: Head volleyball coach Kelley McKee has resigned her position on December 5, 2006, effective immediately. McKee just completed her fifth season with the Lobos. UNM athletics director Paul Krebs said assistant coach Chelsea Robb will serve as interim head coach, although a national search for McKee's successor is underway. (posted 12/5/2006)


Lower Columbia College: Announced on December 2, 2006 that the contracts of Jocelyn Price, head women's volleyball coach, and Bill Tuggle, assistant coach, would not be renewed, according to LCC Athletic Director Kirc Roland. (posted 12/5/2006)

 

Indiana University: Katie Weismiller will not seek renewal of her contract as Indiana University Head Volleyball Coach, the department of athletics announced November 27. The decision was reached mutually between Weismiller and the administration. Her contract expires on Dec. 31, 2006. (posted 12/5/2006)

 

Ball State: The contract of Ball State head women's volleyball coach Randy Litchfield will not be renewed according to Ball State Athletics Director Tom Collins. The decision is effective immediately and also includes the contracts of assistant coaches Chad Weyenberg and Heidi Zickgraf. (posted 12/5/2006)

UNC-Charlotte:
UNC-Charlotte 49ers head women's volleyball coach Lisa Marston announced her resignation on Friday, Dec. 1, citing personal reasons surrounding a growing family. 

Bemidji State: Kim Falkenhagen resigned as head volleyball coach of Bemidji State on November 27 to pursue other interests. The university will begin a national search immediately with the goal of having a new coach on board in the spring of 2007. (posted 11/28/2006)

 

Oakland University (MI): Oakland University (MI) announced the resignation of Head Volleyball Coach Dave Schmidlin effective November 30. Schmidlin just recently completed his fourth season with the Golden Grizzly program, the longest tenure of a volleyball coach at OU since the reclassification to Division I in 1998. Southern Arkansas: Announced the hiring of Brooke (Bowling) White as head women's volleyball coach. White played her college ball for SAU, and re-joins the Lady Muleriders from a stint as volleyball coach and athletic director the past two seasons for North Point Prepatory in Phoenix. Adelphia: Named Chriss Mazzarella women's volleyball coach. Most recently, Mazzarella was the head coach at the Island Volleyball Academy, leading his team to three bronze medals and a silver medal in tournaments on the eastern seaboard. (posted 8/16/2006)

UMKC: Chrissy Elder has been named interim head volleyball coach. Elder is entering her second season with UMKC, as she served as the assistant coach last season. (posted 8/16/2006)

George Mason: Fred Chao has been named interim assistant coach for women's volleyball. Chao, who served as an assistant coach with the women's program for six seasons from 1998 to 2003, rejoins Pat Kendrick's coaching staff, replacing former assistant coach Paul Koncir, who recently accepted a head coaching position with Towson University's women's volleyball program. Holy Family University: Named Suzanne Kilian head women’s volleyball coach. She previously held the position of women’s volleyball head coach at then Philadelphia Textile and Science (now Philadelphia University) from 1996 to 1998, where she established the program. (posted 7/19/2006)

Missouri Valley College: Hired Tait Rafat as the new head coach to guide the men's volleyball program in its fifth season. He takes over the Vikings after serving one season as assistant women's volleyball coach at NCAA Division I Nevada-Reno. (posted 7/19/2006)

Notre Dame: Debbie Brown signed a multi-year contract extension. After leading the Irish to one of their best seasons ever in 2005, Brown will begin her 16th year at the helm this fall. (posted 7/19/2006)

University of Virginia’s College at Wise: Steven Dallman has accepted the leadership of the women’s volleyball program. The veteran head coach has spent the past nine seasons directing the women’s volleyball program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. (posted 7/19/2006)
