Jaye Loyd

Jaye Loyd
Director of Operations/Assistant Sand Coach at Tulane University
AVCA: Who or what has made you want to pursue coaching?
Jaye Loyd: My past playing experiences and passion for the game of volleyball have made me want to pursue coaching. I have seen and experienceed the major influence a coach has on each and every one of their player's lives. I appreciate the opportunity coaching gives me to assist girls in reaching their goals on and off the volleyball court. I also love to win!
AVCA: Who has been your biggest coaching influence?
JL: My biggest coaching influence was a club coach from when I was younger, Ron Silva. While Ron was my coach I could not say he was my favorite. Now, looking back, I really appreciate having had him as a coach. I am able to see how much better he made my teammates and I on and off the court, both inside and out. With Ron it wasn't if we were going to succeed, but when.
AVCA: Please list your past and present coaching/playing experiences:
- 2006-2009 Played at the University of Tennessee
- 2009 Played at Tulane University
- 2010 Assistant Coach at Nicholls State University
- 2011-Present Director of Operations for Indoor Volleyball/Assistant Sand Coach at Tulane University
AVCA: What are you most looking forward to at the 2011 AVCA Annual Convention?
JL: I look forward to learning about skills that are not necessarily my strong point. I want to learn things that will allow me to improve upon my weakness. I also look forward to meeting other people in the field striving towards goals similar to mine. I am excited to have the opportunity to learn from the best!
