AVCA: Who or what has made you want to pursue coaching?
Nyeshia Aldridge: I have known that I wanted to coach every since I was in high school. But after playing/ coaching under Dana hatch (former Head Volleyball Coach Tyler Junior College) I knew that this was the career choice for me.
AVCA: Who or what has been your biggest coaching influence?
NA: My biggest influence would have to be 1. My Love for Volleyball_2. Knowing that I can change the lives of many young women. Being able to be a mentor to young ladies on and off the court teaching them to excel physically, mentally and emotionally.
AVCA: Please list your past and present coaching/playing experiences:
NA: Started playing at Gilmer Jr High, played 3 yrs of Varsity Pittsburg High , Played at Tyler Junior College 2006-08, Assisted Dana Hatch at Tyler Junior College 08-09; Assisted La' Kyva Walton at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) 09-11; Interim Head Volleyball Coach UAPB- Present
AVCA: What are you most looking forward to at the 2011 AVCA Annual Convention?
NA: I am looking forward to meeting all the attendees of the convention as well as attending all clinics/ sessions to help me become knowledgeable on how to become a better coach/ mentor.
