Karis Day, a 6-1 senior outside hitter for Wright State University (5-1), has been chosen the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I National Player of the Week after leading the Raiders to a 3-0 record at the Western Michigan Invitational, including a five-game win over then-No. 12 Michigan State. She helped Wright State overcome a 2-1 deficit to the Spartans with 12 of her season-high 23 kills in games four and five. Day registered 20 or more kills in each of the weekend's three matches and finished the tournament with averages 4.92 kills, 2.31 digs, 0.77 blocks per game, as well as a .442 hitting percentage (64-14-113). Day was named the tournament's most valuable player and also selected the Horizon League Volleyball Player of the Week.
