Ohio State's Stacey GordonStacey Gordon, a 5-11 freshman outside hitter for the ninth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (20-2), has been chosen the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I National Player of the Week. Gordon led the Buckeyes to a 3-0 road win over then-No. 11 Penn State (its first 3-0 home loss since 11/1/95) and a four-game victory at Purdue. She averaged 7.86 kills, 2.57 digs and 0.14 aces while attacking at a .466 percentage over the course of the seven games. Gordon tallied a career-high 25 kills on a .541 attack percentage against Penn State, then followed that with a new career-high 30 kills against Purdue with a .412 hitting percentage. She became the first freshman in Big Ten history to earn its player of the week honors three times in a rookie season and the 11th player overall to win it three times in the same season.
