Sarah McFarlandSarah McFarland, a 6-6 senior outside hitter at then-No. 25 Loyola Marymount University, has been chosen the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I National Player of the Week after leading her team to an upset of then-No. 9 Pepperdine on Nov. 4. McFarland chalked up 43 kills, a .365 hitting percentage, 18 digs, three assists, one ace and one block solo in the four-game victory. Her 43-kill performance ranks as the sixth-best four-game kill total in NCAA history. During the match, McFarland moved into third in the West Coast Conference for single-season kills with 638. She now ranks third in WCC career kills with 1,896. With the victory, Loyola Marymount snapped Pepperdine's 28-match conference win-streak, 15-match home-court win streak and 24-match conference home-court win streak.
