Whitney Meierotto, a junior outside hitter for No. 6 Concordia-St. Paul, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week.  Meierotto helped lead the Golden Bears to four wins this past weekend at the Ramada Downtown Minneapolis/CSP Tournament, which included a win over No. 7 Truman. In Concordia's first match of the weekend against Northern Michigan, Meierotto had 18 kills, three aces, 10 digs and two total blocks in the 3-1 win. Then, in the Golden Bears' 3-0 sweep of Truman, she put away 13 kills, while adding two aces and 18 digs.  In Saturday's first match for Concordia-St. Paul, a three-game sweep of Barry, Meierotto had her best performance of the weekend, knocking down 16 kills in 28 attempts with only one error for a .536 hitting percentage. She also chipped in one ace, 10 digs and one block in the win. She ended the weekend with a nine kill, 13-dig match in the Golden Bears' 3-0 win over Millersville.  For the weekend, Meierotto had a .325 hitting percentage and averaged 4.28 kills, 3.92 digs and 5.0 points per game. This is the first time Meierotto has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week, and marks the fifth time a player from Concordia-St. Paul has received the award. The Golden Bears are coached by Brady Starkey.
