Traci Weamer, a 6-0 freshman outside hitter for 15th-ranked Cal State San Bernardino (18-6, 12-4 California Collegiate), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She averaged 5.73 points, 4.85 kills, 0.75 blocks and 3.00 digs per game while hitting .310 against two nationally ranked opponents. Weamer tallied 18 kills, three blocks and six digs while hitting .312 in a five-game upset over ninth-ranked Cal State L.A. on Nov. 2. She contributed 16 kills, 18 digs and three blocks with a .306 attack percentage during a three-game victory over 22nd-ranked Cal State Bakersfield on Nov. 4. Weamer improved her season averages to 4.09 points, 3.23 kills, 0.63 blocks and 2.91 digs per game. She holds a .242 attack percentage in her first collegiate season. Weamer is the second Coyote to earn the national honor, following Kim Morohunfola's selection on Sept. 29, 2003. The Cal State San Bernardino head coach is Kim Cherniss.
