Erin Gudmundson, a 5-11 senior middle blocker for top-ranked University of Nebraska-Kearney (22-1, 13-0 Rocky Mountain), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She hit .438 for the week with averages of 5.25 points, 4.20 kills, 1.20 blocks and 1.20 digs per game. Gudmundson tallied 18 kills, six blocks, six digs and a .333 hitting percentage in a five-game win over 23rd-ranked Nebrasaka-Omaha. She hit .500 with 16 kills, four blocks and three digs in a sweep of Metro State. Gudmundson tacked on a .615 attack percentage with eight kills and two blocks in two games versus Colorado Christian. She holds a .402 season attack percentage, along with cumulative per game averages of 4.29 kills, 1.14 blocks and 1.07 digs per game. Gudmunson recorded her 2,000th-career kill on Oct. 28 against Metro State and now has 2,022 overall. She has earned the national honor three times, including Oct. 13, 2003, and Nov. 15, 2004. The Nebraska-Kearney head coach is Rick Squiers.
