Rachel Lewis, a 5-5 freshman setter for Presbyterian College (25-4, 11-0 SAC), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She helped lead the Lady Blue Hose to three 3-0 victories last week as she averaged 13.33 assists, 0.44 kills, 0.44 blocks, 2.22 digs and 0.56 aces per game. Presbyterian hit .344 as a team in the three combined matches. Lewis paced the Lady Blue Hose to a .317 attack percentage versus Francis Marion as she collected 39 assists and seven digs. Presbyterian hit .359 as a team as Lewis handed out 41 assists to go with seven digs, two blocks and two kills. She added 40 assists, six digs and two blocks versus Mars Hills as the Lady Blue Hose hit .361 in the victory. Lewis averages 13.34 assists, 1.70 digs, 0.43 blocks and 0.29 kills per game this season. She is the second Presbyterian player to earn the national honor (Kelly Haire on Nov. 10, 2003). The Presbyterian head coach is Ed Allen.
