Kaci Young, a 5-9 senior setter for seventh-ranked Central Missouri State University (2-1, 0-0 MIAA), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. Young helped the Jennies to a .246 team hitting percentage in a 3-2 loss to ninth-ranked Tampa. She notched nine kills, 47 assists, two aces, 11 digs and three block assists while hitting .562. In a sweep of Metro State, Young collected four kills, 40 assists, an ace, 10 digs and three block assists and hit .667. As a team, CMSU hit .339 against the Roadrunners. She added seven kills, 40 assists, seven digs and a block assists in a 3-0 win against Abilene Christian. The Jennies hit .361 versus the Wildcats and .305 for the weekend. Young did not commit a single hitting error all weekend. She averaged 1.82 kills, 11.55 assists, 0.27 aces, 2.55 digs, 0.64 blocks, 2.41 points and hit .625. This is the third time a Jennie has receive the award. The Central Missouri State University head coach is Peggy Martin.
