Kristin Koralewski, a 5-8 senior outside hitter for Northern Kentucky University (19-8, 12-3, Great Lakes Valley), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week after leading the Norse to road victories at Indianapolis and Saint Joseph's. Koralewski hit .438 on 112 attempts during the week with averages of 6.3 points, 6.1 kills and 4.44 digs. She recorded a career-high 33 kills with 16 digs in a five-game victory over Indianapolis. Koralewski charted 12 kills alone in game four to rally the Norse back from a 16-7 deficit, then hammered five kills on a .714 in the deciding fifth game. She chipped in 22 kills, 24 digs and two aces while hitting .392 against Saint Joseph's. Koralewski raised her season averages to 4.99 kills and 3.55 digs per game. Northern Kentucky has been honored with the national award four times, and Koralewski has earned it twice (Sept. 15, 2003). The Northern Kentucky head coach is Carlos Chia.
