Elizabeth Anyigor-Abitogun, a 6-1 senior outside hitter for Pittsburg State University (15-8, 3-5 MIAA), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. Anyigor-Abitogun averaged 7.47 points, 6.76 kills, 1.41 digs and 0.82 blocks per game as the Gorillas won five matches. She hit at a .376 percentage on 237 attacks, increasing her season percentage to .304. Anyigor-Abitogun turned in a double-double of 30 kills and 10 digs with a .358 attack percentage in a five-game victory over Henderson State. She added 25 kills, four digs, two blocks and a .408 attack percentage versus Ouachita Baptist. Anyigor-Abitogun produced 21 kills in victories over Missouri Southern and Harding. She earned all-tournament honors at the Wendy's/Pizza Hut Classic co-hosted by Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist. She reached 1,000-career kills on Oct. 8 versus Southern Arkansas. Anyigor-Abitogun is the first Gorilla to win the national award in school history. The Pittsburg State head coach is Ibraheem Suberu.
