Angie Hummel, a 6-1 sophomore setter for 15th-ranked Augustana College (S.D.) (11-5, 3-1 NCC), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week after leading the Vikings to three North Central Conference wins. Hummel posted an assist average of 15.20 over the course of 10 games, bettering her current season average by 4.18 assists per game. She averaged 3.50 digs and 2.00 kills while hitting .340 on the week. Hummel missed a triple-double by one kill (9) with 44 assists and 10 digs in a sweep of Southwest Minnesota State. She followed up with 49 helpers, seven digs, three kills and an ace in a 3-0 win over St. Cloud State. She closed out the week with 59 assists, four kills, two blocks, one dig and an ace in a four-game win over 17th-ranked Minnesota State, Mankato. The Augustana College (S.D.) head coach is Kim Sudbeck.
