Amy Gruszynski, a 5-8 senior setter for No. 20 Northwood University (Mich.) (18-3), has been named the AVCA/Sports Imports Division II National Player of the Week for leading the Timberwolves to three wins over Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes. Gruszynski averaged 14.5 assists, 3.30 digs, 2.10 kills, while adding four blocks and three service aces in the victories. She hit .606 over the course of 10 games with 21 kills and a lone error in 33 attempts. Gruszynski just missed a triple-double against Michigan Tech as she tallied 11 kills, 46 assists and nine digs. She collected a season-high 16 digs in a sweep of Lake Superior State, while hitting .800 (4-0-5) for the match. Gruszynski posted 55 assists in the Timberwolves' four-game defeat of Northern Michigan. She was selected as the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week for the second time this season.
