Shawn McLaughlin, a 5-10 senior outside hitter for fourth-ranked Trinity University, Texas (32-4, 18-0 SCAC), has been selected the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to five wins. McLaughlin averaged 4.08 kills, 2.62 digs and 1.31 service aces per game as Trinity extended its SCAC win streak to 54 matches and three consecutive undefeated league seasons. She recorded three double-doubles in the five-match week, including 16 kills and 10 digs versus DePauw. McLaughlin contributed 15 kills, 11 digs and a .538 hitting percentage versus Centre, then charted 13 kills, 11 aces, seven digs and a .684 attack percentage against Rose-Hulman to conclude the week. McLaughlin, who has a .330 season attack percentage, hit at a .547 percentage for the week with 53 kills on 86 swings. Trinity was selected for the NCAA Division III Tournament and will host one of eight regionals this weekend. The Trinity University head coach is Julie Jenkins.
