Rebecca Rotello, a 5-8 senior setter for No. 2 Washington University (37-1), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division III National Player of the Week for leading the Bears to a 5-0 record and their 14th-consecutive University Athletic Association title this past weekend. She tallied 179 assists over the course of 16 games for an 11.19 per game average, while leading her squad to a team hitting percentage of .343 in the five wins. Rotello tallied 31 kills for the week en route to a .462 individual hitting effort, as well as averaged 2.38 digs and 1.94 kills per game. She added 13 blocks, six service aces and just missed a triple double with nine kills, 47 assists and 19 digs against Carnegie Mellon. Rotello was named first-team all-UAA and now has 4,556 career assists, which ranks second in Washington University history.
