Faith O'Dell, a 5-9 senior outside hitter for undefeated King's College (Pa.) (18-0), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division III National Player of the Week for helping the Lady Monarchs to a 6-0 week. King's is now off to its best start in school history and boasts a school-record for consecutive wins with 18. O'Dell hit .444 on the week and .500 in four of her squad's six sweeps. She had only 10 hitting errors in 151 attempts, while posting 77 kills. She led King's to the title at the Washington (Md.) College Invitational with 22 kills and 22 digs in a win over Division II Pitt-Johnstown. For the week she averaged 4.28 kills, 3.89 digs and 0.56 aces per game. O'Dell became the first player in King's history to reach the 1,000-kill plateau in three seasons (she transferred from Clarion), and only the second to reach both 1,000 kills and digs.
