Macnair Sillick, a 6-1 senior outside hitter from No. 4 New York University (NYU), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week.  Sillick earned the award for his strong play last week against New Haven (Division II) and Harvard (Division I).  In the sweep of New Haven, Sillick put away 14 kills in 22 attempts with only one error for a career-best .591 hitting percentage. He also added three aces, two digs and two total blocks in the NYU victory. He followed that up with a 16-kill, two-ace, three-dig performance against Harvard.  For the week, Sillick averaged 5.0 kills and 1.5 digs per game in helping the Violets reach the .500 mark on the season at 11-11 and 4-2 in the EIVA Hay Division. Sillick's honor marks the fourteenth time an NYU player has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week award, and it is the second time Sillick has been recognized (March 7, 2005).  NYU is coached by Jose Pina.
