Tom Maving, a 6-1 junior outside hitter from No. 7 Nazareth, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week.  Maving earned the award for his stellar offensive play last week at the Endicott March Mania Invitational, where he was named MVP while leading Nazareth to the tournament title with wins over four opponents - three nationally-ranked.  In Nazareth's first match against Baruch, Maving played in only one game and scored four kills on one error for a .429 hitting percentage. In his next match, a five-game thriller against No. 14 Rivier, Maving had 21 kills, a .472 hitting percentage, seven digs and three total blocks in the Golden Flyers' win.  Maving continued his strong play in Nazareth's next match, against No. 10 MIT.  In that win, he had 20 kills, a .333 hitting percentage, six digs and four total blocks.  Maving closed out the week with 22 kills, a .562 hitting percentage, three aces and three digs in Nazareth's four-game win over No. 8 Carthage.  For the week, Maving averaged 4.79 kills, a .447 hitting percentage, 1.21 digs and .5 blocks per game.  This is the second time this season that Maving has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week; he is the only player from Nazareth to ever receive the award.  The Golden Flyers are coached by Cal Wickens.
