Praveen Pamidimukkala, a junior outside hitter for No. 10 MIT, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week for his solid performances in four matches last week. To start the week off, Pamidimukkala helped MIT to a four-game win over Lasell with a .410 hitting percentage in a 20-kill performance. He also added 16 digs in the match. In MIT's second match of the week, a three-game sweep of Endicott, he put down 16 kills and had a .424 hitting percentage in the win. With those 16 kills, he surpassed the 1,000-kill mark for his career at MIT. Pamidimukkala followed that match with a 21 kill, 10-dig performance in MIT's sweep of Baruch, and then ended the week by putting down six kills in seven attempts for a .714 hitting percentage in the Engineers' three-game sweep of Southern Vermont. In addition, in only two games against Southern Vermont, he scored nine aces to break the MIT record for most aces in a match. For the week, Pamidimukkala averaged 5.25 kills per game, a .398 hitting percentage, 2.67 digs and 1.25 aces per game. Pamidimukkala is MIT's first men's volleyball player to be named Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week. The Engineers are coached by Paul Dill.
