USC trailed 4-6 in the second game before going on a 4-0 run behind a kill and then an ace by Austin Zahn and a pair of combo blocks by Vernon and Killian; from there, the Trojans were never threatened. The third game was tied at 17-17 before a Pacific serving error and an ace by Troy gave the Trojans the cushion they needed.
USC next plays at No. 6 Stanford on Friday (Jan. 18) at 7 p.m. in another MPSF match.
