Zack Stedman, a 6-3 sophomore outside hitter for sixth-ranked Rivier College (7-4, 2-0 NECVA), has been selected the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week. Stedman led the Raiders to a split against seventh-ranked Stevens Tech and a victory over fourth-ranked Medaille last week. He averaged 4.92 points, 4.38 kills, 1.6 digs and 0.38 blocks per game while hitting .429 on 107 swings in three matches. Stedman turned in 22 kills on a .581 hitting percentage in a four-game victory over Stevens Tech on Jan. 29. He added four digs and two blocks solos in the victory. Stedman charted 19 kills, eight digs and a block solo while attacking at a .472 percentage in a five-game win over Medaille on Jan. 30. He added 16 kills, nine digs and two block solos in a four-game loss versus Stevens Tech. Stedman holds season averages of 3.57 kills, 1.5 digs and 0.46 blocks per game. Stedman is the second Raider to earn the national honor in school history. The Rivier College head coach is Craig Kolek.
