Macnair Sillick, a 6-1 sophomore outside hitter for second-ranked New York University (5-9, 1-6 EIVA Tait), has been selected the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week. Sillick led the Violets to a victory over 12th-ranked Vassar and adding significant totals in losses to NCAA Division I 13th-ranked George Mason and NCAA Division I Harvard. He averaged 4.82 kills, 0.55 blocks, 0.36 aces and 1.09 digs per game while hitting .357. Sillick charted 14 kills, six digs, three aces and a .400 attack percentage in a three-game victory over Vassar. He tallied 15 kills, three blocks, three digs and an ace in a three-game loss to George Mason. Sillick produced 24 kills on a .356 hitting percentage, three digs and two blocks in a five-game loss to EIVA Sweeney champion Harvard. His 24 kills against the Crimson were one shy of his career high. Sillick averages 3.90 kills, 0.67 blocks, 1.04 digs and 0.35 aces per game this season. He hit .126 better than his season average of .231. The Violets have secured the national honor nine times. The NYU head coach is Jose Pina.
