Ken McNeeley, a 6-6 sophomore middle blocker for Newbury College (18-3, 9-3 NECVA New England), has been selected the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week. McNeeley averaged 5.10 points, 3.90 kills, 1.90 blocks and 0.10 aces per game as the Nighthawks won two of three matches last week. He hit .507 for the week on 65 attacks to his increase his season-long attack percentage to .419. McNeeley provided 15 kills on a .833 hitting percentage with six blocks in a four-game loss to fifth-ranked Rivier. He charted eight kills and seven blocks in a three-game victory over Johnson & Wales. McNeeley led the Nighthawks to a three-game upset of 10th-ranked Endicott with 16 kills as part of a .520 attack percentage. He added six blocks and a dig in the upset. McNeeley averages 4.39 points, 3.02 kills, 1.61 blocks and 0.53 digs per game this season. He is the first Nighthawk to earn the national player of the week honor.
