Beau Warren, a 6-2 junior setter/right side hitter for ninth-ranked SUNY New Paltz (5-6), has earned the AVCA/Sports Imports Division III National Player of the Week for leading the Hawks to a 4-2 record last week and the Roger Williams Invitational championship. Warren, the most valuable player of the RWU Invitational, averaged 0.88 blocks, 6.80 assists, 1.60 kills and 2.08 digs per game in six matches. He charted a triple-double (11 kills, 43 assists, 12 digs) against No. 8 Roger Williams in the championship match. Warren added double-doubles in wins over No. 10 Johnson & Wales (46 assists, 10 digs) and MIT (42 assists, 10 digs). He added 34 assists and eight digs against No. 15 Rivier. Warren produced 10 kills and seven digs against Sacred Heart while playing only at opposite.
