Yosleyder Cala, a 6-8 outside hitter for then-No. 2 BYU, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the Week.  He earned the award for his solid play in helping BYU defeat then-No. 7 Cal State Northridge in an MPSF Tournament quarterfinal match last weekend.  Cala tallied 16 kills in 28 attempts with only three errors for a .464 hitting percentage, while playing in just over two games of the Cougars' sweep of the Matadors.  He added one ace, two digs and three total blocks in the match, and averaged 6.16 points per game.  His .464 hitting percentage also put him back over .400 for the season.  This is the second time this season that Cala has earned the award, and the third time this season that a BYU player has been honored.  Russell Holmes received the award on January 29, and Cala won the award on March 5.  It is the 17th time overall that a player from BYU has been named Sports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the Week.  BYU is coached by Shawn Patchell and Ryan Millar.
