C. J. Macias, a 6-4 outside hitter for No. 7 IPFW, has been selected as the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the Week.  Macias helped the Mastodons to sweeps over Saint Francis and No. 8 Penn State.  For the week, Macias averaged 6.33 kills, 1.67 digs, 1.0 blocks, and 21.0 points per game, while hitting .429 on 63 attacks.  In his team's first match of the season, against Saint Francis, he logged 20 kills on 31 attempts, and added eight digs, while hitting .548.  He followed that up the next night against the eighth-ranked Nittany Lions with 18 kills on 32 swings, adding two digs, on a .312 hitting percentage.  Macias' honor marks the eighth time an IPFW men's player has won the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week award, with the last being Josh Stewart in 2006.  The Mastodons' head coach is Arnie Ball.
