Marc Honore, a 6-6 junior middle blocker for Saint Francis University, Pa. (8-7, 4-2 EIVA Tait), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the WeekSM. He led the Red Flash to a sweep of Juniata, ranked first in the CSTV/AVCA Division III Men's Coaches Top 15 PollSM, and a near upset of 11th-ranked Loyola-Chicago. Saint Francis' win over Juniata was the program's first against the Eagles since the 2002 season. Honore averaged 5.75 points, 4.25 kills, 1.63 blocks and 0.50 service aces per game for the week. He contributed 15 kills with a .400 attack percentage versus Juniata on Feb. 22, in addition to five blocks and an ace. Honore hit .720 in a five-game loss to Loyola-Chicago on Feb. 24 with season-highs of 19 kills, eight blocks and three aces. He increased his season averages to 4.87 points, 3.78 kills, 1.49 blocks and 0.20 aces per game with a .475 attack percentage. Honore is the first Red Flash player to receive the national award. The Saint Francis head coach is Mike Rumbaugh.
