Mark Peckham, a 6-5 senior setter for 14th-ranked The Ohio State University (18-8, 11-3 MIVA), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the Week. Peckham led the Buckeyes to upsets of 11th-ranked Lewis and 13th-ranked IPFW to move Ohio State into a tie with Ball State atop the MIVA conference standings. He recorded 47 assists (15.7 apg) in the sweep of the Flyers, while directing OSU to a .402 hitting percentage. He also added three digs, one block and a kill. Peckham distributed 54 assists and tallied 11 digs, four blocks and four kills in five attempts (.800) in OSU's five-game defeat of IPFW. He averaged 12.62 assists, 1.75 digs, 0.62 blocks and guided the Buckeye offense to hit .316 in the two matches. The Ohio State University head coach is Pete Hanson.
