Shawn Schroeder, a 6-9 junior middle blocker for 13th-ranked Loyola University Chicago (16-7, 12-4 MIVA), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II Men's National Player of the Week for leading the Ramblers to a 2-0 week, including an upset of fifth-ranked Lewis. Schroeder posted an .889 hitting percentage with 17 kills, one error on 18 attempts to take the 4-1 victory over Lewis. His hitting performance is the second-best single-match percentage in school history, and he is on pace to become the school's single-season record holder. Schroeder added four blocks, three digs, two assists and an ace in that match. He recorded a .692 clip with 10 kills, one error on 13 attacks in a sweep of Rutgers-Newark, registering five block assists, three digs and an assist. Schroeder averaged 3.86 kills and 1.29 blocks per game, while hitting .806 (27-2-31).
