Scott Kittleson, a 6-5 senior middle blocker for George Mason University (5-3), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II National Player of the Week for leading the Patriots to a 2-0 week. Kittleson, who moved into the starting lineup for an injured Chris Barnes, averaged 1.50 blocks per game and attacked at a .579 percentage on 19 swings in eight games. He tallied five blocks, including three solos, in a three-game victory at Princeton. Kittleson contributed 10 kills, seven blocks and a .692 hitting percentage during a five-game win at Concordia (NY). A transfer from Concordia, Kittleson helped the Patriots to their first win over his former school since March 7, 1998. He currently is attacking at a .476 percentage for the season and is second in blocks per game at 1.35.
