Aaron Wachtfogel, a 6-1 senior outside hitter for No. 15 University of the Pacific (5-11, 3-9 MPSF), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II National Player of the Week following the Tigers' 2-0 week. Wachtfogel averaged 4.00 kills, 2.00 digs and 0.50 blocks per game in leading the Tigers over top-ranked Pepperdine and the University of Southern California. He charted 32 kills on 57 attempts as part of a .386 hitting percentage for the week. In four games, Wachtfogel recorded 13 kills, three blocks and a .391 hitting percentage in the Tigers' five-game upset of Pepperdine. He added a double-double, 19 kills and 12 digs, in four games versus USC. Pacific now has recorded two victories this season against teams ranked among the top six in the current USA Today/AVCA Division I-II Coaches Top 15 Poll.
