Brad Keenan, a 6-8 junior middle blocker for fourth-ranked Pepperdine University (15-4), has been chosen the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II National Player of the Week for leading the Wave to back-to-back 3-0 victories at third-ranked BYU last week. Keenan averaged 4.17 kills, 1.50 blocks and 0.50 service aces per game. He contributed a total of 25 kills on 35 attempts with only three hitting errors on the weekend for a .629 attack percentage. Keenan hit .588 on March 1 against BYU with 12 kills, two aces and two blocks. He improved his numbers in the re-match with a .687 hitting percentage, 13 kills and six blocks. For the season, Keenan averages 2.94 kills per game and hits .457. Pepperdine, ranked third in the MPSF standings and only a game behind leader Hawai'i, handed BYU its first back-to-back home shutout losses since the 1991 season.
