Eyal Zimet, a 6-3 junior outside hitter for second-ranked University of Hawai'i, has been named the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II National Player of the Week for helping his team to a 3-0 victory over Long Beach State in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament quarterfinals. Zimet, captain of the Hawai'i squad, produced 12 kills on 15 attacks with one error for a .733 hitting percentage. He added three block assists, five digs and an assist in the three-game victory. Zimet tallied five kills on as many attempts in the third game of the match. For the season, he averages 2.64 kills, 0.71 blocks and 1.55 digs per game while hitting at a .313 clip. The Warriors, 21-7 overall, advance to the MPSF Tournament semifinals and will play sixth-seed UC Santa Barbara on April 25.
