Chris Fash, a 6-5 outside hitter for No. 5 Ohio State is the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II Men's National Player of the Week for the week ending March 27, 2000.  The Buckeyes played four road matches in the past week, all of them against  Top 10 nationally ranked opponents.  They opened with a tough five game loss to No. 3 USC and a three-game loss to No. 2 Pepperdine.  Fash turned in solid numbers in both matches logging 22 (.368) and 18 kills (.361) respectively.  Next up for the Buckeyes were the No. 7 BYU Cougars.  Fash and the rest of his OSU teammates were not intimidated by BYU's impressive winning history in the Smith Fieldhouse and used a .382 team hitting percentage for the five-game, three hours and ten minute victory.  The 6-5 junior led his team with a career high 39 kills and 12 digs in the match; his .517 hitting percentage was also a season high.  The 3-2 win makes Ohio State the first team since 1997 to defeat the Cougars in the Smith Fieldhouse.  The Buckeyes returned to the Fieldhouse on Saturday and Fash contributed 23 kills and 11 digs in the three-game OSU victory.  For the week, Fash averaged 6.38 kills per game for a .420 hitting percentage, 2.0 digs per game and .75 blocks per game.
