Reid Priddy, Loyola Marymount University
Sr. 6-4, OH/Opp. (Phoenix, Arizona)
Reid Priddy, a 6-4 outside/opposite hitter for No. 9 Loyola Marymount is the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II Men's National Player of the Week for the week ending April 24, 2000. The Lions lone match for the week came in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) championship tournament against higher-ranked No. 3 Long Beach State. Priddy led the charge as the No. 8 conference seed upset the No. 1 seed in five-games. He tallied a match-high 43 kills on 80 attempts for a .313 hitting percentage, led the Lions in digs with 17 and contributed five total blocks. The win marks the first ever LMU playoff victory and the first time a No. 8 seed has knocked out a No. 1 seed. Priddy's selection as the AVCA/Sports Imports Player of the Week is not a first for the senior, having received the honor earlier this year on March 20th. The win advanced Loyola Marymount to the semifinal match against No. 4 UCLA on April 27th at Pepperdine.
