On September 2nd and 3rd, the Junior Volleyball Directors Association (JVDA) assembled for a Board of Directors (BOD) meeting. The eight board members gathered at the Fusion Volleyball Center in Marengo, Ill. to evaluate what the JVDA had accomplished during the past year, and determine what the direction the association would strive for during the next year.

As this was the first opportunity for the BOD meeting to happen since all the current members had been put in place, there were many first time face to face introductions. Normally, the BOD meets via a phone conference call at least once per week. When the meeting was called to order and the group started to discuss the agenda items, it became apparent that the people in the room have a passion for volleyball matched only by the outside temperature, which was in the mid ‘90s.

While each of the members brought their own unique vision to the board, it is clear that they all have a common goal - a dedication to grow the sport of volleyball and expose as many youth and junior players to the game as possible.

Next week when the general membership meeting takes place September 20th and 21st at the Hilton in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.,  these Board members will present their review of this year's accomplishments and ideas for future growth plans for next year.

Your participation in next week's general membership meeting is critical for the continued success of the JVDA, and it is also your chance to help shape how the association will develop for the next 12 months.

See you court side.
