No. 2 Emory Sweeps Case Western Reserve at UAA Round Robin II
WALTHAM, Mass. - The No. 2-ranked Emory University volleyball team closed out the opening day of the University Round Robin II Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep over Case Western Reserve University.
The Eagles upped their overall record to 23-4 (5-0 UAA) following a 25-21, 25-10, 25-16 decision over the Spartans who saw their record slip to 14-10, 2-3 in the UAA. Hosting the Round Robin II is Brandeis University.
Seniors Dani Huffman (San Diego, CA) chalked up a team-high 14 kills and was aided by junior Alysse Meyer's (Stockton, CA) 10 terminations and three service aces. Sophomore Amelia McCall (Montgomery, AL) finished with nine kills. Freshman Brannan O'Neill (Houston, TX) and junior Vista Murphy (Laguna Beach, CA) tied for team honors with 10 digs and freshman Natalie Schonefeld (Louisville, KY) chalked up 40 assists.
Emory will play Rochester and Carnegie Mellon on Sunday.
