DIII No. 13 Eastern Mennonite Opens Season with Two Wins
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Eastern Mennonite University men's volleyball team swept both matches during the first day of competition at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz Tournament on Friday, January 16.
In the first match of the day the Royals defeated Elms College in three games. Scores were 30-21, 30-26, and 30-28.
Cody Kennedy (Newport News, Va./Menchville) led the team with 11 kills. Sophomore setter Shane Holderby (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) registered 25 assists. Junior middle Justin Reesor (Stouffville, Ontario/Stouffville) had eight more kills for EMU while senior libero Cory Parsons (Colmar, Pa./Christopher Dock) finished with 14 digs.
