Runza Renews as Title Sponsor of AVCA Showcase

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association has renewed its agreement with Runza® Restaurants as title sponsor of its College Volleyball Showcase, the organization announced Thursday. The 2009 Showcase will be played August 28-29 at Qwest Center Omaha, Neb., in the second of a three-year deal with the arena.
"We are so pleased to welcome Runza® back as the title sponsor of the AVCA College Volleyball Showcase," said Kathy DeBoer, AVCA Executive Director. "Combining a premier brand with a premier event brings value to both of us."
Founded in 1949, Runza® is a Nebraska tradition that operates and franchises 83 restaurants in Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Kansas. The quick-service chain, who was title sponsor of the 2008 Showcase, is a valuable partner of this event.

Now in its 15th year, the Runza/AVCA College Volleyball Showcase is the premier regular season college volleyball tournament in the country. The 2008 event featured four of the elite programs in the country who helped unveil a new conference challenge format. The teams for the 2009 event will be announced at a later date.
