 AVCA Two-Year College Head Coaches Committee Minutes
Wednesday, December 10, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. (ET).

ROLL CALL

Present: Trish Knight, Kanoe Bandy, Jayme Frazier, Bert Luallen, Vanessa Schroeder,  Mike Trame.

Absent: Michael De Hoog, Terry Gamble, Kim Lester, Jane Peterson, Benjamin Staupe

Welcome: Trish began the discussion talking about the TYC involvement at the convention one week away.

I. TYC at the Convention

TYC Booth: Trish asked about working the TYC booth during the convention. She still needs some volunteers. Kanoe and Mike Trame volunteer, as will Trish. Will need to ask for a few more once at the convention.

Meetings: Trish mentioned that she had talked to the NAIA about getting someone to talk about the Gap Rule. Unfortunately, the NAIA meets at the same time as the TYC coaches, so no one can come. However, they did give her some information, so she will be able to talk about it at the meeting.

Mike Trame talked about a news article that appeared that his AD found. It said that the NCAA is considering a new rule that would make TYC transfers have to sit out a year when going to a four-year college.

Discussion followed on this topic, with Trish saying she would look into it further as this would definitely impact all TYC schools.

II TYC Awards

Mike Trame thought it was a great committee this year, and that they did a nice job in selecting the coaches.

Kanoe agreed. She thought all the coaches that were selected were "right on."

                                                            - Sat., 8:30 a.m.-noon... Tear down in the afternoon.
