Jamie Grauvogel, a sophomore outside hitter for the College of Mount St. Joseph, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week after leading her team to four wins last week. In the Lions' 3-0 win over Hanover, Grauvogel hit at a .423 clip behind 16 kills in 30 attempts and three errors, while also collecting seven digs, two blocks and one ace in the match. She followed that up by hitting .444 with 12 kills in 27 attempts without an error, while adding nine digs and two blocks in a 3-0 win over DePauw. Grauvogel scored her first double-double of the week in a 3-1 win over Ashbury, as she tallied 22 kills and 15 digs, while also adding one block and one ace in the win. She then had a nine-kill, 22-dig performance in a 3-1 loss to Washington & Lee before closing out the week with her second double-double, scoring 18 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 win over Centre. For the week, Grauvogel hit .347, averaging 4.28 kills, 3.5 6 digs and 4.6 points per set. Grauvogel is the second athlete from Mount St. Joseph to be named Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week honors. The last Lion to earn the award was Katie Feldkamp on Nov. 11, 2006. Mount St. Joseph is coached by Michele Benoit.
