AJ Witkofsky, a 6-4 Middle blocker for unranked Endicott College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week after leading the Gulls to three wins last week, including an upset of then-No. 14 Rivier College. In Endicott's first match, a 3-0 win over Mount Ida, Witkofsky had 10 kills, nine digs and six blocks in the contest. He followed that up by putting away 26 kills in 40 attempts and only three errors for a .575 hitting percentage in the 3-2 upset of Rivier. He also added eight digs and seven blocks to his team's statistical totals in the contest. He finished the week with a 17-kill, seven-dig and seven-block performance in a sweep of Elms. For the week, Witkofsky hit. .471 and averaged 4.82 kills, 2.18 digs, 1.82 blocks and 6.14 points per game. Witkofsky is the first player from Endicott to earn the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Men's National Player of the Week award. The Gulls are coached by Tim Byram.
