NJCAA Volleyball Players of the Week (Oct. 7, 2009)

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Oct. 7, 2009) - Ami Baldwin of Eastern Arizona College, Prairie State Community College's Colleen Gentile and Carly Pruitt of Howard Community College have been named the NJCAA Volleyball Players of the Week.
Ami Baldwin (Gilbert; Gilbert, Ariz.) recorded two double-doubles for Eastern Arizona College last week. The 5'8" outside hitter tallied 13 kills and 12 digs against Arizona Western and followed with 24 kills and 13 digs against Yavapai later the same day as they swept the tri-match. Baldwin also added six aces for the Gila Monsters.
Colleen Gentile (T.F. North, Calumet City, Ill.) recorded two double-doubles last week, earning NJCAA DII Volleyball Player of the Week honors. The 5'7" setter had 18 digs and 27 assists against Elgin on Sept. 29 and 21 digs and 45 assists against Kankakee on Oct. 1. The sophomore currently ranks eighth in the nation with 8.86 assists per set.
Carly Pruitt (First Flight; Outer Banks, N.C.) earned two double-doubles last week for Howard Community College. The 5'10" outside hitter recorded 16 kills and 19 digs against CCBC-Catonsville and followed with 24 kills and 18 digs against Allegany two days later. Pruitt kicked the week off with an outstanding 10 aces against Cecil. On the week, she averaged 4.9 kills, 3.5 digs and 1.6 aces per set.
