Courtney Reinhold, a sophomore outside hitter for then-No. 23 Eastern University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week. She earned the distinction after receiving Tournament MVP honors at the Blue Jay Classic this past weekend. She began the week by hitting a sizzling .706 with 13 kills and two digs in the Eagles' defeat of King's, all while only seeing action in two sets. The 2008 AVCA Second-Team All-American started the weekend with another impressive outing, hitting at a .562 clip, while totaling 19 kills, nine digs, two blocks and an ace in a win over Catholic.  In the Eagles' next match, a victory over Widener, she notched her first of two double-doubles, tallying 16 kills, 15 digs, two aces and a block, while hitting .484. Reinhold followed with an eight-kill (.375), 11-dig, one-block outing, again only appearing in two sets, as Eastern toppled Wesley. She ended the weekend by drilling 17 kills for a .455 attack percentage, in addition to grabbing 16 digs, three aces and a block in a win over Elizabethtown. For the week, Reinhold averaged 5.62 kills, 4.08 digs and 6.08 points per set, while hitting an efficient .512. This is the first time an athlete from Eastern University has received the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week award. The Eagles are coached by Mark Birtwistle.
