Sarha Gosselin, a senior outside hitter for Wayne State (Mich.), has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week after leading the Warriors to three victories at the Asics GLIAC/GLVC Crossover this past weekend. Gosselin started the weekend well with her seventh double-double of the season, while reaching a career-high 22 kills against Northern Kentucky. She added 13 digs, five blocks and 3 aces in the thrilling five-set defeat of the Norse. Gosselin continued action with 14 kills, seven digs and three blocks in a 3-1 triumph over Drury. She finished the event by hitting an impressive .520, with 14 kills, six digs, three aces and a block in a sweep of Saint Joseph's. For the week, Gosselin, who was named to the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover All-Tournament Team, averaged 4.17 kills, 2.17 digs and 5.08 points per set. This is the first time an athlete from Wayne State (Mich.) has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week award. The Warriors are coached by Phil Nickel.
