Megan Hodge- Penn State
Megan Hodge, a senior outside hitter for top-ranked Penn State University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week after guiding the Nittany Lions to two Big Ten sweeps this week, extending their winning streak to 88 straight matches in the process. Hodge started the week by drilling 16 kills (.419) and tallying 11 digs for her ninth double-double of the year. She also contributed an ace and two blocks in the 3-0 blanking of Ohio State. The three-time AVCA First-Team All-American finished the week putting down 19 kills for an impressive .429 attack percentage, while adding five digs, two blocks, an assist and an ace against then-No. 7 Minnesota. For the week, Hodge averaged 5.80 kills, 2.70 digs and 6.50 points per set, while hitting an efficient .424. This is the eighth time an athlete from Penn State has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week award and marks the third time the distinction has been given Hodge, her last honor coming earlier this season on Sept. 22. The Nittany Lions are coached by Russ Rose.
