Bri Morley- Metropolitan State University
Bri Morley, a sophomore outside hitter for then-No. 23 Metro State, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the week after leading the Roadrunners to the RMAC Tournament Championship, which automatically qualified the squad for the 2009 NCAA Division II Tournament. Morley began action by hitting at an impressive .389 clip, drilling 17 kills and contributing seven digs and two service aces in a sweep of Regis. She continued tournament play with a double-double of 19 kills and 15 digs, while also adding a block in a five-set defeat of Mesa State. The RMAC Tournament MVP ended the week by guiding the Roadrunners to a thrilling 3-2 upset of then-No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney, notching her second double-double of the event with 20 kills, 13 digs and one block. For the week, Morley averaged 4.31 kills, 2.69 digs, 4.58 points per set. This is the second time an athlete from Metro State has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week award, the last honor going to Tracy Thompson on Sept. 20, 2009. The Roadrunners are coached by Debbie Hendricks.
