Jacque Ray, a senior middle blocker for second-ranked University of Washington-Oshkosh, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week after taking home Most Valuable Player honors at the Trinity University (Texas) National Invite last weekend. She began the weekend hitting .409 with 12 kills, four blocks and an assist in the Titans' sweep of then-No. 8 Wittenberg. The 2008 AVCA Division III Third-Team All-American continued action by racking up 13 kills, five blocks and an assist in a 3-0 defeat of then-No. 18 Trinity. She closed out the weekend with her best performance, hitting .421 with 18 kills, five blocks and three digs in her squad's thrilling five-set victory over top-ranked Juniata. For the week, Ray hit at a .410 clip, averaging 3.91 kills and 1.27 blocks per set. This is the fourth time an athlete from Wisconsin-Oshkosh has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week award, the last honor going to Leah Rosenbaum on Oct. 8, 2007.
